Engineer-in-Training

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly motivated entry level Civil Engineer-in-Training to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing planning, design, and construction support for water, sewer, stormwater, and transportation projects for municipalities and special purpose districts in Washington State.  Duties may include the preparation of planning documents, engineering reports, plan, specifications, and estimates for projects.  The role also includes providing construction management support activities such as submittal review, resolution of construction issues, and field observation of construction activities. This position is under the direction of a licensed professional engineer.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
  • Engineer-in-Training Certificate is preferred, not required
  • 0-2 years of experience in municipal engineering
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

We offer a competitive compensation package, with an anticipated total salary (including year-end bonus) ranging from $78,000 to $86,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

Gray & Osborne has provided professional engineering services to public agencies throughout Washington State since 1935. We specialize in the planning, design, and construction management of water, sewer, stormwater, transportation, and utility systems.  The opening is in our Yakima office at 191 Iron Horse Court, Ste 101. A hybrid work arrangement—requiring a minimum of three days per week in-office—is available after 6 months of employment.
